Prayers
Prayer to St. Joseph
St. Joseph, through thy love for Jesus Christ
and for the glory of His name, hear our
prayers and obtain our petitions. Jesus,
Mary and Joseph, assist us! St. Joseph,
faithful follower of Jesus Christ, to thee do
we raise our hearts and hands to implore thy
powerful intercession in obtaining from the
benign Heart of Jesus all the helps and
graces necessary for our spiritual and
temporal welfare, particularly the grace of a
happy death, and the special favor we now
implore (to sell your house/property). O
Guardian of the Word Incarnate, we have
confidence that thy prayers on our behalf
will be graciously heard before the throne of God.
Amen.
Traditional Instructions
St. Joseph Home Seller Tradition
The back of the card includes traditional instructions associated with the St. Joseph Home Seller devotion. It describes burying a St. Joseph statue upside down in the front yard with the feet pointing toward heaven and facing the statue toward the home.
The card emphasizes that the location of the statue may vary, but that faith and confidence in St. Joseph’s intercession are central to the devotion. After the home is sold, the statue is to be removed from the ground and given a place of honor in the new home.
The card concludes by reminding the faithful to believe that St. Joseph will intercede on their behalf in the sale of the home.
