In the Book of Revelation, Michael leads the heavenly angels against the dragon. Therefore, Catholics often look to him as a powerful symbol of spiritual courage and protection.

Scripture also presents Michael in the Book of Daniel and the Letter of Jude. In Daniel, he appears as a protector. In Jude, he contends with the devil over the body of Moses.
