Frequently Asked Questions
What are the Mysteries of the Holy Rosary?
The Holy Rosary contains twenty mysteries that reflect on important events in the lives of Jesus and Mary. In particular, Catholics divide these mysteries into four sets:
- Joyful Mysteries
- Mysteries of Light (Luminous Mysteries)
- Sorrowful Mysteries
- Glorious Mysteries
During each decade, Catholics meditate on one mystery while praying the Rosary. Therefore, each mystery provides a focus for prayer and reflection.
In addition, the mysteries guide Catholics through key moments in the life of Christ and Mary. As a result, praying the Rosary combines vocal prayer with meditation.
Ultimately, the twenty mysteries help Catholics reflect more deeply on Christ and the Catholic faith.

Every Christmas Eve, Shawn donates thousands of gifts to those in need through Holy Angels. She also volunteers at addiction treatment centers and supports people through grounding boxes and group classes.
Her children, Loyola University students, and local high school students also help prepare gift bags for families in need.
When you purchase a Kilgarlin prayer card, you become part of that mission of giving.
