We Believe. The Nicene Creed in Your Hands.

For over 1,700 years, Catholics around the world have stood together at Mass and proclaimed the Nicene Creed — the great profession of faith hammered out at the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD and refined at Constantinople in 381 AD. It is the Church's definitive answer to the question: what do we believe? Every word was chosen with care, defended with courage, and handed down through the centuries at great cost. To pray it is to stand in communion with every Catholic who has ever lived.

This beautifully laminated Kilgarlin prayer card carries the full Nicene Creed, finished with gold color accents. Keep it in your missal, your Bible, or your pocket — a reminder of the faith you profess every Sunday and the great cloud of witnesses who professed it before you.

The Nicene Creed

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

A Mission Behind Every Card

ShopCatholic was founded by Shawn Kilgarlin — wife, mother of four, mental health clinician, and life coach. Every Christmas Eve, Shawn donates thousands of gifts to those in need through Holy Angels. She volunteers at addiction treatment centers, offering grounding boxes and group classes. Her children, Loyola University students, and local high school students help make gift bags for families in need — all funded from her own heart. When you purchase a Kilgarlin prayer card, you're participating in that mission of giving.

Perfect for RCIA, Confirmation & Catholic Schools

This card is an essential resource for RCIA candidates learning the faith, Confirmation students preparing to profess their belief, and Catholic school classrooms. It's also a beautiful card for anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of what the Church believes and why every word of the Creed matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Nicene Creed and the Apostles' Creed?
Both are professions of Catholic faith. The Apostles' Creed is older and simpler, traditionally used at Baptism and in the Rosary. The Nicene Creed is longer and more theologically precise, developed at the Councils of Nicaea (325 AD) and Constantinople (381 AD) to address specific heresies about the nature of Christ and the Holy Spirit. The Nicene Creed is prayed at Sunday Mass.

Can I order in bulk for my parish or ministry?
Absolutely! Cards are available in packs up to 100 for standard orders. For custom print orders, the minimum is 1,000 cards with approximately a 5-day turnaround — and you can order any quantity above that. When Pope Francis made his 2016 Apostolic Journey to the US/Mexico border, he ordered 80,000 Kilgarlin prayer cards for distribution. Contact us to discuss your custom order.
