Novena to St. Philomena Kilgarlin Laminated Prayer Card
The Wonder-Worker. Nine Days with St. Philomena.
St. Philomena — young martyr, virgin, and one of the most powerful intercessors in the Catholic tradition — has been called the "Wonder-Worker of the 19th Century." Though her life on earth was brief, her intercession has moved mountains. St. John Vianney, the Curé of Ars, attributed many of his miracles to her. Pope Gregory XVI called her "the great miracle worker of our century." This beautifully laminated Kilgarlin novena card invites you into nine days of prayer with her powerful intercession, finished with gold color accents and crafted for daily devotion.
If you are carrying something heavy — an illness, a broken relationship, a desperate need — bring it to St. Philomena. She is known to answer.

The Novena Prayer
O faithful virgin and glorious martyr, St. Philomena, who works so many miracles on behalf of the poor and sorrowing, have pity on me. Thou knowest the multitude and diversity of my needs. Behold me at thy feet, full of misery, but full of hope. I entreat thy charity, O great Saint! Graciously hear me and obtain from God a favorable answer to the request which I now address to thee. I ask it through the merits of Jesus Christ, and the glory which thou dost enjoy in heaven. Above all, I beg thee to obtain for me the grace to one day see God face to face, and with thee and all the blessed to praise and love Him eternally. Amen.
A Mission Behind Every Card
ShopCatholic was founded by Shawn Kilgarlin — wife, mother of four, mental health clinician, and life coach. Every Christmas Eve, Shawn donates thousands of gifts to those in need through Holy Angels. She volunteers at addiction treatment centers, offering grounding boxes and group classes. Her children, Loyola University students, and local high school students help make gift bags for families in need — all funded from her own heart. When you purchase a Kilgarlin prayer card, you're participating in that mission of giving.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who was St. Philomena?
St. Philomena was a young Roman martyr whose remains were discovered in the Catacomb of Priscilla in 1802. She is venerated as a virgin martyr who died rather than renounce her faith or her vow of chastity. Her feast day is August 11th. Though her name was removed from the universal Roman calendar in 1961, her devotion remains strong among Catholics worldwide, particularly through the Shrine of St. Philomena in Mugnano del Cardinale, Italy.
Why is St. Philomena called the Wonder-Worker?
St. John Vianney — the patron saint of parish priests — had an extraordinary devotion to St. Philomena and attributed many miraculous healings and conversions to her intercession. He called her "my little saint" and kept her statue in his church. Her reputation for powerful intercession has continued for over two centuries.
Can I order in bulk for my parish or ministry?
Absolutely! Cards are available in packs up to 100 for standard orders. For custom print orders, the minimum is 1,000 cards with approximately a 5-day turnaround — and you can order any quantity above that. When Pope Francis visited the USA, he ordered 15,000 "Praying with Five Fingers" cards — a testament to the power of putting prayer in people's hands. Contact us to discuss your custom order.
