"Let nothing disturb you; nothing frighten you. All things are passing. God never changes. Patience obtains all things. Nothing is wanting to him who possesses God. God alone suffices."
— St. Teresa of Avila
In a world that never stops moving, these words stop you in your tracks. St. Teresa of Avila — mystic, reformer, Doctor of the Church, and one of the most beloved women in Catholic history — wrote them as a bookmark for her own Bible. And now they can be yours.
This St. Teresa of Avila laminated prayer card is designed by Shawn Kilgarlin, a wife, mother of four, and mental health clinician from Shreveport, Louisiana. At ShopCatholic, we believe the right words at the right moment can anchor a soul. Teresa's words have done that for centuries — and this card puts them in your hands, your Bible, your pocket, or your heart. Laminated with gold accents, sized perfectly for a bookmark or a wallet.
✝️ About St. Teresa of Avila
Born in 1515 in Ávila, Spain, Teresa entered the Carmelite order as a young woman and went on to become one of the greatest mystics and reformers the Church has ever known. She founded the Discalced Carmelites, wrote spiritual masterpieces like The Interior Castle and The Way of Perfection, and was declared a Doctor of the Church in 1970 — one of only four women to hold that title. Her feast day is October 15th. She is the patron saint of headache sufferers, chess players, and those in need of grace.
